More caution is needed on Kentucky roads during winter months

The winter can bring forth fond memories of spending time with family around the fire. However, more often than not, Old Man Winter delivers chilly temperatures and unsafe driving conditions. The colder months are responsible for countless car accidents each year. It is for that reason why it is so important to implement safe driving practices during the winter months.

Driving recklessly in hazardous weather conditions not only puts you at risk, but puts everyone else on the road at risk. Often what would be a single-car accident will result in a several-car pileup in poor weather conditions. Officials are blaming a wave of car accidents on Kentucky's recent wet weather conditions.

Kentucky ranked one of the most dangerous states to drive in

Some Kentucky drivers likely spend a significant amount of time in their cars. People rely on their cars to get them to where they need to be, but they also rely on other drivers to keep the roads safe. Unfortunately, that is not always the case.

Recently, Kentucky was ranked as one of the worst states to drive in. Based on the number of car accidents and fatalities in each state, and from information from the National Transportation Safety Board, it ranked among the top ten most dangerous states to drive in.
